Sept. 5th- 8th

K-3 News
Week of September 5th- September 8th

Upcoming Events:
No school on Monday, Sept. 4th in observance of Labor Day.
First turn in day for cookie dough sales –Sept. 7th
Mini Cheer practices Tuesday, Sept. 5th and Wednesday, Sept. 6th from 2:10-3:00. Pep rally performance/ half time performance on Friday, Sept. 8th.
Lil’ Rebels run out with football players on Friday, Sept. 8th
Friday, Sept 8th – students not participating in the above mentioned events may wear a Hawaiian shirt with their uniform bottoms.
Progress reports will go home on Thursday, Sept. 14th.

Learning Adventures for the Week:
Our theme for the next few weeks is a Rainbow of Colors.  We will be learning/reviewing our colors.  We will read many different books about colors and make some fun projects to go along with the stories.  

We will also start making our color posters to display in our classroom.  Please send in items that can be glued to a poster board and displayed for the remainder of the year.  This week’s color is red.  Please send red items in on Tuesday.

Reminders:
Pillowcases and blankets come home on Fridays to be washed and returned on Mondays. 


Please let Mrs. Wade or the teacher on duty bring your child into the hallway.  The tone of our day is set from the moment the students enter the classroom.  Please be respectful of our morning routines!

Learning Adventures for the Week:
This week we will continue with our theme, I’m Me! Fantastic.  We will focus on our five senses and body parts.  We will also continue to talk about our feelings and proper ways to express them.
If you have not sent in your family picture yet, please do so as soon as possible.  We will also display them in our room for the remainder of the year.
Reminder- pillowcases and blankets will come home every Friday. Please wash over the weekend and return them on Monday!

Week of August 14-18

I am so excited about our first full week of school!  This week your student will be learning about classroom procedures such as raising hands when we need to ask a question, proper bathroom behaviors, lining up and walking quietly in a line.

 We will also be introduced to many new things within our classroom.  We will talk about the proper way to hold scissors, how much glue we should use, and how we will take care of our crayons.

Wednesday. August 16th- parent's meeting at 7 pm
Tuesday, October 31st- Halloween celebration

The next two weeks we are discussing shapes and colors.  We will be exploring these things through songs, fun games and crafts and talk about the shapes and colors we see in our everyday lives and world.  We are also working on memorizing the days of the week and months of the year.

All fundraising packets are due this Thursday 9/15.
Progress reports will go home on Thursday 9/15.

On Friday, students may wear white shirts and jeans for a $1.00 donation.  Cheek cheers will also be available.  Check your child's folder for the money envelope.

Kinderclub is Monday, 9/19 - RSVPs are due by Friday, 9/16.

Wednesday, 9/21 will be a half day for parent/teacher conferences.  Please check your child's folder for your signup times.

Silent auction is October 28th.  Please be on the lookout for information about our basket item/donation for this night.

**Field trip date changes - Our trip to Sgt Jasper on 10/7 has been changed to March 31st.
                                Our Airport field trip on Friday 10/21 is now going to be on Wednesday 10/19.**

August 22-26

We are off to a great start in the Kinderwing!!  Our first week was full of excitement getting to know our new friends and learning about the routines of the school day.

This week our theme will be All About Me.  We will be talking about our families, our homes, and some of our favorite things.  Remember that "Me" dolls are due on Monday.  Also keep your eyes open for additional fun homework assignments this week.

May 9-13

Parents, I hope that you enjoyed Mom and Dads Day as much as I did!  We have a wonderful time and  enjoyed some delicious food!! 

This weeks theme will be Tongue Twisters.  We will also be reviewing shapes, colors, letters, and numbers 1-10.

Permission slips, waivers, and money for our End of the Year trip is due now!!! The field trip will be Thursday.

April 25- 29

Thank you to all the parents who came to the Spring Musical.  I heard that our "frogs" did an amazing job.  Also, thank you to all parents who attended the Spring Gala on Saturday.  It was a huge success.

This week we will continue our study of mammals.  We will review the characteristics of them, and talk about specific mammals more in depth.

We will also continue to review shapes, colors, numbers 1-10, and ABC's.  We have started tracing first names.  (All capital letters)

Upcoming Dates to Remember:

Marvelous Mom's Breakfast and Pig Pickin' with Dads- Friday, May 6th (Please have money turned in by Monday, May 2nd)

End of the Year Field Trip- Thursday, May 12th (Permission slip and money is due by Monday, May 9th)
