April 4-8

Thank you to all parents for sending in candy to make last week such a "sweet" experience!! We couldn't do it without you!

This week our theme is Water Works.  We will be learning about the water cycle, different bodies of water, and doing fun experiments with water.

Number 10 will be introduced, and we will review numbers 1-10.

Please check your child's change of clothes in their book bag.  Please make sure that it is weather appropriate and that it is a complete set of clothing. (socks, underwear, shorts, and shirt)

March 14-18

This week we will be learning about Spring.  We will celebrate St. Patrick's day on Thursday.  Students may wear jeans and a green shirt.  Don't forget to send in your green food item to share with the class.  We will play games and make a fun shamrock craft also.

Our letter of the week is "X" and our number is 9.

Report cards will go home on Thursday.  Parents will keep the report card.  Please sign the envelope and return as quickly as possible.

Permission slips for our Easter Party are due by Tuesday, March 22nd. If any parent can help hide eggs or set up, please send in a note and let me know.

March 7- 11

This week our theme is Nursery Rhymes.  We will be learning nursery rhymes, as well as, doing crafts and experiments relating to them.  Our letter for the week is "W' and our number of the week is 8.

On Thursday, we will take a field trip to the Kazoo Factory in Beaufort.  After visiting the factory, we will have a picnic lunch and then go to Bruster's for a yummy treat!

There is a Spring Gala meeting tonight in the library at 6!  Anyone willing to help with this event is encouraged to attend.

Dates to Remember:\

March 17th- Students may wear jeans and a green shirt to school.  Each child also needs to bring a green food item to share with their class.

March 24th- Easter Party at Arthur McDonald's home

March 25th- 28th- Easter Weekend

Please go ahead and mark your calendars for Friday, May 6th.  This will be our Mother's Day Breakfast and Dad's Day lunch.  This is a fun day that you don't want to miss!!

February 29- March 4

This week we will be learning about dinosaurs.  We will talk about the different types of dinosaurs, what they like to eat, and where they lived.

Our letter of the week is "V".

On Thursday, students will dress up as their favorite Dinosaur book character.  Have fun and be creative!!

Students may wear jeans on Friday for $1.00.  All proceeds will go to the library for new books.

Field trip forms and money need to be turned in by Thursday, March 3rd!!

February 8-11

This week we will continue our Knights, Castles, and Dragons theme.  On Thursday we will have a Masquerade Ball in the gym starting at 8:30.  Boys may dress up as knights and girls may dress up as princesses.  (Boys may not bring swords or any type of weapon.)

Our letter of the week is "A".

We are out of school from Friday, February 12th until Tuesday, February 16th for Winter Weekend.  Students will return on Wednesday, February 17th.

January 25- 29

This week we will be talking about transportation.  On Friday, we will have our 2nd Annual
Bike-a-Thon.  Parents are asked to bring their child's bike and helmet to school Friday morning.

Our letter of the week is "R".

Wednesday is the 100th day of school.  Students should wear their 100 day t-shirt to school.  Also, please send in your 100 snack items.

If you have not turned in an empty cereal box, please do so immediately.

Reminders:

Open House is Tuesday, February 2nd at 6.

Grandparent's Day is Friday, February 5th.

January 19th- 22nd

This week we will be learning about forest animals.  We will look at animal tracks, listen to animal sounds, and pretend to be many different forest animals.

Our letter of the week is "B".

Please send in an empty cereal box by Friday, January 22nd.
