Upcoming Events:

Thursday, January 31st - K-3 and K-4 Circus Performance 1:30 on front lawn.  We need your help!!  We have our Circus unit coming up in a few weeks.  Students will be picking out their acts to perform, and making their costumes.  We need any scrap fabric, ribbon, or supplies you deem appropriate to help make costumes.  IF you have any of these items, please send in ASAP.  Thank you!

Friday, February 1st – Grandparent’s Day. Please RSVP for your child by January 22nd.

Monday, February 4th -100th Day of School.  Please decorate a hat or shirt with 100 items and wear it to school on this day.  JARM donations will also be due!

Please continue to sell your chocolate.  All money is due by January 29th!!!


Learning Adventures for the Week:

Our theme for next week will be the Circus.   We will discuss different types of circus acts and begin working on our costumes for our circus performance. 

AB patterns were introduced last week, and we will continue to practice these. We are also counting to 25.

Our letter of the week will be “J” and our number of the week will be “2”.

Upcoming Events:

Monday, December 17th- Half Day- Dismissal at 11:15

Tuesday, December 18th-Half Day- Dismissal at 11:15.  We will be watching The Star.  Students may bring their favorite stuffed animal to school on this day.

Wednesday, December 19th- Christmas program in the gym at 8:15.  Students need to wear Christmas pajamas on this day.  We will have our Christmas Potluck Brunch immediately following the program.  Please send in your child’s favorite dish on this day. Students will be dismissed after the brunch.

Students return to school on Monday, January 7th.

Students may bring their favorite Christmas present for show-n-tell on the 7th.  (No guns, knives etc.)

Upcoming Events:

If you would like to participate in Community Helpers week, please send in a note with date and time as soon as possible. Times will be handed out on a first come first served basis.

All Operation Christmas Child donations should be turned in by Friday, October 19th.

Report cards will go home on Thursday, October 25th.


Learning Adventures for the Week:

Our theme next week will be apples.  We will be learning about the parts of an apple, tasting different types of apples, and even painting with apples.  Our class will also make applesauce and apple turnovers with our K-4 friends.   

Our letter that will be introduced is “H”.

Our color for next week will be black.  Please send in black items by Monday.

We have some special projects coming up in the next few weeks.  Your child will need a brown paper grocery bag and a clean 2 liter bottle.  Please start sending these items in at your earliest convenience. 2 liter bottles should be turned in by Monday, October 15th.

Upcoming Events:

October 1st- 19th- Operation Christmas Child items will be collected

October 1st-5th- Spirit Week/ We will be going to the gym Wednesday-Friday to participate in these activities.  Our dismissal times will run a little later on these days. Friday students may wear jeans and a THA t-shirt. (No charge)

Friday, October 5th- Homecoming game and activities.  Homecoming activities start at 7pm (Homecoming court and Lil’ Rebels) Game begins at 7:30pm. Mini cheerleaders will perform at half time.  

Monday, October 9th- No School- Columbus Day


Learning Adventures for the Week:

Our theme next week will be What’s Cooking?  We will be cooking and tasting items with our friends in K-4.  Our schedule for the week is Monday, ants on a log; Wednesday, pancakes and sausage; and Friday, math pizzas.  Our pizzas will be made for lunch on Friday.  Please send in a snack and drink to go with their pizza.

Our letter of the week will be F.

Our color for next week will be pink.  Please send pink items in on Monday.

Learning Adventures for the Week:

We will continue with our Rainbow of Colors theme. We will also start working on shape identification.

Our color posters for next week will be yellow and purple.  Yellow items can be turned in on Monday, and purple items can be turned in on Wednesday.


Thank you to everyone who contributed to our spa basket for the silent auction.  A special thank you to Tiffany Wall for heading this up for our class!!

Please start saving toilet paper tubes for our class.  We will be using these for decorations for our Thanksgiving Feast.  You can send these in at any time.

Our theme for the next few weeks is a Rainbow of Colors.  We will be learning/reviewing our colors.  We will read many different books about colors and make some fun projects to go along with the stories.  

We will also start making our color posters to display in our classroom.  Please send in items that can be glued to a poster board and displayed for the remainder of the year.  This week’s color is red.  Please send red items in on Tuesday.


Reminders:

Pillowcases and blankets come home on Fridays to be washed and returned on Mondays. 

Please do your best to help with our cookie dough fundraiser.  Prizes range from free tuition, ice cream sundae party, and a jeans week for the entire class if we have 100% participation!!

Learning Adventures for the Week:

Our theme for the next two weeks will be I’m Me! Fantastic!!  We will be learning all about what makes each of us special. We will talk about our homes, our families, and some of our favorite things.  The five senses and body parts will be introduced as well.

We will continue to discuss proper behaviors in our classroom.

Please send in your family picture if you have not already done so.  These will be displayed in our classroom for the remainder of the year.

Pillowcases and blankets will come home every Friday. Please wash over the weekend and return them on Monday!

Upcoming Dates:

March 13th and 14th – School wide accreditation. Please have students at school on time and in proper school uniform.

March 16th- Report cards go home. Students may wear jeans and a green shirt for St. Patrick’s Day.

March 29th- Easter party and egg hunt at Calla and Clay Daley’s home (Permission slips will come home soon)

April 25th- Kindergarten play 8:30 am. (K-3 will participate in this. They will wear jeans and a plain red t-shirt.)

May 8th- K-3 through 6th Spring Musical/Mother’s and Father’s Day Brunch

May 17th- End of the Year trip to Bee City (Permission slips will come home soon)


Learning Adventures for the Week:

Our theme for next week will be Mother Goose.  We will be learning nursery rhymes and doing activities that go with them.

 Each child needs to pick their favorite nursery rhyme to memorize.  On Thursday, each child will dress-up and recite their nursery rhyme to K-3 and K-4. They may use props is they want too.  Have fun and be creative.  Please send in a note stating your child’s chosen nursery rhyme and we will assign your child a performance time.

Our letter of the week will be “R”.  We will also introduce #6.

Upcoming Events:

You may send in Valentine’s any day next week.

Candy grams are on sale! They are $1.00 and will be delivered on Valentine’s Day. If you are interested, please send in a note stating who the candy grams are to and from. This is a senior fundraiser, so please help support the Senior class!

Manner’s Banquet will be Thursday, February 15th starting at 11:00.  Students should wear their Sunday best.  Please refer to your letter about additional banquet information. Don’t forget to send in a note when your child has accomplished the designated manners at home so they can receive their award!

Progress reports will go home on February, 15th on an as needed basis.

No school on Friday, February 16th and Monday, February 19th for Winter weekend.

Learning Adventures for the Week:

Our theme for next week will be reptiles and amphibians.  We will be learning about the similarities and differences between reptiles and amphibians, the life cycle of a frog, and why turtles have a shell.

Our letter of the week will be “G”.  We will also introduce #3.

Next week we will be celebrating the 100th Day of school.  Please send in 100 pennies with your child on Monday.  We will count them and then donate the money to JARM.  

Reminder that re-enrollment forms are due on Monday!!

Open House will be Tuesday, February 6th at 6pm.  Please come out and meet your child's teacher for next year.  We would also love for you to bring a friend!!

Grandparent's Day has been rescheduled for Friday, February 9th.

The book fair will be open next week.  It will be open before and after school.

Candy grams are on sale now.  They are $1.00 and will be delivered on Valentine's Day.  You may send a note in your child's folder stating who they are for and who they are from!

Upcoming Events:

Tonight the Rebel football team will play at home in the first round of playoffs.  Please come out and support these guys! #tharebelpride

Send in items for Operation Christmas Child next week.  All items are due by Friday, 11/10.

Progress reports will go home on Thursday, 11/9. These will go home on an as needed basis.

Thanksgiving Celebration- Tuesday, 11/21.  Please send in your $3 donation by 11/15.

Learning Adventures for the Week:

Our theme next week will be Leaves are Falling.  We will be talking about autumn, why leaves change colors, and making many fun fall crafts.

Our letter that will be introduced is “I”.

Please remember that student’s may only wear THA approved outwear to school.

We are working hard on becoming more independent in our classroom.  Please allow your child the opportunity to try new things at home.  (Getting dressed, putting on socks and shoes, etc.) We will both benefit from this!!

Upcoming Events:
Monday, October 9th- No School- Columbus Day
Permission slips for fire department trip are due by Tuesday, October 10th.
 Doughnuts with Davis- October 11th or 13th in Mr. Pryor’s office
Student may wear a pink shirt with their uniform bottoms to school on Friday, October 13th for “Pink Out”.
Report cards will go home on Thursday, October 19th.


Learning Adventures for the Week:
Our theme next week will be Fire Safety.  We will be learning who to call in case of an emergency, what to do if our clothes catch on fire, and how to prevent getting hurt when we are around fires.  This will be a great week of study that will get us ready to meet the Ridgeland Fire Department on our upcoming field trip. 

Our letter that will be introduced is “F”.

Our color for next week will be brown.  Please send in brown items by Wednesday. 

We have a few special projects coming up in the next few weeks.  Your child will need a brown paper grocery bag, a clean 2 liter bottle, and a baby food or small mason jar.  Please start sending these items in a t your earliest convenience.  (2 liter bottles will be used first.)

Friday- September 29th  Homecoming Vs. Hilton Head Christian.  We will attend the pep rally on this day, and we may be a few minutes later dismissing.  Students may wear a THA t-shirt and jeans on this day. (No charge!)

Monday, October 2nd- Halloween Celebration money and volunteer forms are due

Learning Adventures for the Week:

Our theme next week will be shapes and sizes.  We will be doing many fun activities using the basic shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, star, heart, and diamond).   

We will also talk about things being larger, smaller, or the same.  Letters will start to be introduced next week as well.  Our first letter will be “L”.


We will continue making our color posters to display in our classroom.  Please send in items that can be glued to a poster board and displayed for the remainder of the year.  This week’s colors are blue and orange.  Please send blue items in on Monday and orange items on Thursday.

Learning Adventures for the Week:
This week we will continue with our theme, I’m Me! Fantastic.  We will focus on our five senses and body parts.  We will also continue to talk about our feelings and proper ways to express them.

Week of August 14-18

I am so excited about our first full week of school!  This week your student will be learning about classroom procedures such as raising hands when we need to ask a question, proper bathroom behaviors, lining up and walking quietly in a line.

 We will also be introduced to many new things within our classroom.  We will talk about the proper way to hold scissors, how much glue we should use, and how we will take care of our crayons.

The next two weeks we are discussing shapes and colors.  We will be exploring these things through songs, fun games and crafts and talk about the shapes and colors we see in our everyday lives and world.  We are also working on memorizing the days of the week and months of the year.

All fundraising packets are due this Thursday 9/15.
Progress reports will go home on Thursday 9/15.

On Friday, students may wear white shirts and jeans for a $1.00 donation.  Cheek cheers will also be available.  Check your child's folder for the money envelope.

Kinderclub is Monday, 9/19 - RSVPs are due by Friday, 9/16.

Wednesday, 9/21 will be a half day for parent/teacher conferences.  Please check your child's folder for your signup times.

Silent auction is October 28th.  Please be on the lookout for information about our basket item/donation for this night.

**Field trip date changes - Our trip to Sgt Jasper on 10/7 has been changed to March 31st.
                                Our Airport field trip on Friday 10/21 is now going to be on Wednesday 10/19.**

August 22-26

We are off to a great start in the Kinderwing!!  Our first week was full of excitement getting to know our new friends and learning about the routines of the school day.

This week our theme will be All About Me.  We will be talking about our families, our homes, and some of our favorite things.  Remember that "Me" dolls are due on Monday.  Also keep your eyes open for additional fun homework assignments this week.

School pictures are Monday, August 22nd!!
